Paper Cutting

I tried my hand at paper cutting for the first time last week.

For everything that I did learn I made two mistakes. My knife slipped so many times this is actually in five pieces. Next time I'm doing something with far less detail and with thinner paper.

Protips:
Do not use card stock. It's just harder to cut through and will dull your blade faster
Be equipped with plenty of spare blades or have a segmented utility knife
Sketch your project out first
Use a self-healing mat
Start with the smaller things first and work your way up to the bigger ones

You gotta start somewhere

Well, this is my first post here. I had all of pleaseinsertcoins.com as a blog, but I felt that wasn't very professional. So here we are. I'll be updating with sketches, works in progress, upcoming events (both on and offline) and anything else I find interesting.

And to start off, here is my submission for the 2010 PDX zine symposium poster. The theme was "Zine Arcade". Being a dork, I applied both meanings to that theme. There is no way I can pass up a video game reference, even if it is weak.
